I just love the fact that MTH is back hitting a good stride again... now even delivering "surprise" products announced/unveiled upon delivery... dare I say like the "good ol' days". 
BTO may be the "new norm" for some stuff nowadays, but I think that gets old real fast. It's always nice to see importers surprise their loyal fans every now and then! 
I'm a Standard Gauge newbie, so I hope to see MTH release more of these locomotives with road-name color schemes like they did back in the 2005 timeframe.

This is good news! Makes me think that there is still a chance that MTH might someday produce a Milwaukee Road version.

Coming over from O-Gauge Hi-Rail, I'm a HUGE fan of roadnames on Standard Gauge tinplate. I like the stuff that says Lionel Lines, Ives, etc..., but I also like real roadnames too.
When I first started buying Standard Gauge trains about 18 months ago, I saw that MTH produced roadnamed locos back around 2005 but they're next to impossible to find now. And I'm not into paying "collectors premiums" for anyone's stuff. So it's great to see offerings like this for us relative newbies. Hope to see many more!!! Well, maybe not TOO many.

This occasionally comes up and people will say how they don't like real road names on their tinplate (which is fine) but it seems they don't know early tinplate did use real road names. I love the early Ives freights as well as Dorfan and Lionel and A.F. used real road names as well.

I think it looks amazing!! I hope something that sharp in O gauge comes along.
Always a fan of variety in tinplate, I am glad there are roadnames for added variety. Chessie is not one of my teams...
