After moving my focus to New York Central equipment, I have a project in mind that I actually can finish without too much time or money problems - renumber and letter a Lionel Legacy Light Mikado in New York Central markings and road number.

And before you say anything, I am aware both K-Line and MTH have done this already. However, I am waiting until MTH makes a Proto 3.0 version if that comes to pass anytime soon, and the K-Line version (and rather inaccurate Lionel version) is only RailSounds 4.0. Besides, along with preferring Lionel Legacy equipment, this will be a chance to break out my creative, artistic side again. Not to mention add some extra detailing to make it almost as good as MTH's Premier equipment. In addition, I WILL be getting the Heavy version by Lionel in the future...

Now the question is what type of lettering is the best match? I like both serif and sans-serif lettering, but I would like to know what type they are to make the best matches. I am planning on using doityourselflettering.com for this part in getting them. In addition, of which engines had which type. I have seen that most of the 1700 series had sans-serif, and the 5100 series had serif, but any more info is very welcome.
