brings back many memories.
Wonderful stuff! I grew up in the 50's & 60's in Red Hook Brooklyn which was considered a two fare neighborhood. We had to take a bus to get to either the Smith & 9th Street station or to Court Street to get a subway. To see the subway platforms and tracks so clean and graffiti free brought back a lot of memories. I also enjoyed seeing all the automobiles on the streets and the rooftops with TV antennas.
great shots especially the #7 train in Queens, I rode from Flushing to times Square for many years. THANKS for sharing this

I already gave thanks to BlueLine above but the Coach's question to SherBear prompts me to want to tell about my El use. I lived on 14th St. in Manhattan and went to Fordham Prep on the Fordham campus from 1953-1957. I took the 3rd Ave El every day from 18th Street all the way up to Fordham Road 190th St and back every day. Then I took the last ride on the 3rd Ave El south of 149th Street I think sometime in 1956 as that section shut down. So for my senior year, 1957, I took the Lexington Ave from 14th to 149th and switched to the El from there as it still ran from 149 north.I have a Lexington Ave subway system (under not elevated) running under my layout now.BTW, I did every bit of my homework assignments on the trip to and from school for all 4 years of my school at the Prep. I am still in touch with many of the alumni.
