No idea...have not given it a moment's thought. My responsibility is operations. I don't know what she's going to "wear." Whatever the guys do is OK with me...except for the Mars light.

No...but if you intend to go to the curve to watch us go past, you better be there early. I expect it will be a mob.

Rich, does this route pass through Greensburg, PA at all?  I did not know if this is the line (main line norfolk southern) but I heard it passed through last year. i dont want to miss it as I am so close to the line at my office.  I have a great view if I knew a date it would pass through.  thanks  Chris

Yes, but with a totally new app. The app we used last year was not very good. It did not work reliably and we got a lot of complaints about it. It was free, and you get what you pay for, I guess.

When we launch the new app, I'll post about it here. I think it will be $2.99.

oh, cool,  so I can track the train on the computer and determine about when it might pass through then?  I dont have a smart phone. I can drive across the street and run to the tracks in 5 min!  hope its not at night!

oh, so this may not be a stop on the route.  who is wick?  Originally Posted by MH2198:

Please! The Nickel Plate 700s sure weren't "beasts". When you eventually see her, you'll see what I mean.

Keep in mind, not everybody has seen anything larger, so to some people she will look massive.  I attended Train festival 2009, so I do know what you mean

As an example, the small 4-4-0 and two axle tender (a converted 0-4-0) at the Railroad I volunteer on makes the early 1900's Michigan Central 4-4-2 (which isn't even hooked up to it's tender) one stall over in the roundhouse look like a giant.  Then the C&O Allegheny 1601 in the museum dwarfs everything.

Looking at the youtube videos, I would have to say its pretty large.  The only time Ive seen any steamers were in savannah, GA at the museum there, and back in 88 in Yuma, AZ I saw a large engine sitting near a hotel we visited and I was 13 then.

anyhow, I got a lot of people in my area all the sudden wanting to tag with me to see this thing run past.  With a bunch of kids wanting to see it also.  most never get this opportunity to see a steam engine roar past.  hope all goes well and its on schedule

NO WE WON'T - CHANGE OF PLANS

On the 18th and 19th Employee Trips we will NOT turn the 765 on the table in Altoona. 765 will be facing west and will work up the hill with the PRR Heritage diesel on the rear. We'll get to Gallitzin, change ends and come back down the hill with the diesel leading.
