No Justification...

I am sure I am not the first to buy and engine that does not fit in with "the rest" because of no other reason than it just looks cool. I had to order a BNSF ES44AC unit to match the previous one that I had taken possession of that lost its brother to a mix-up. While Iwas at it I could not resist the KCS in gray ES44. It just has a cool "no nonsense" look to it. I try and curb (recently) my spending on locomotives by sticking with UP, BNSF, C&NW and Milwaukee Road. Like I said, no justification...

I'm sure I could find pictures of KCS units mixed in with UP or BNSF out there on the googles if I tried.

Here are the two new fish getting a break in.

Yes, Google it, and you will find it. I've seen KCS units mixed in with local (Chicago) power in freight trains.

I cannot go anywhere north of my house without sitting waiting for trains on the BNSF main. Up until the past year or so, there would be one or two non BNSF units including KCS.

It's not a gray unit (because KCS ES44's weren't painted gray, the Flyer unit's a fantasy, but a good one...)

The KCS AC44CWs were produced in that scheme.

There are new primer gray KCS ES44AC diesel-electric locomotives running.

Rusty I am surprised that you don't have a KCS desiel on your layout, might not be your modeling era, but if I recal you had some sort of Kansas Grain scheme or railroad name working on your line?
