OK, TMCC newbie here with a couple of questions. I placed my 6-18567 GP-9 on the tracks, command base unplugged, turned my CW-80 on and it runs great in conventional – horn, bell, forward/neutral/reverse/neutral, directional lighting and strobe.

Next I powered off, plugged in the command base, powered up – I then set the engine ID, got the horn blast and all works normal in TMCC mode except …. No strobe.

Question 1. Why no strobe in command mode?

In an effort to fix the strobe, I did a RESTORE operation, resetting the code to #5 (diesel w/strobe). No change, the strobe still works in conventional but not in TMCC.

Question 2. While running normally in command, engine is stopped, switch set to RUN, then I hit ENG, ID#, SET – the cab lights started blinking at about the rate of the strobe light, but the strobe light still wasn’t blinking. Hitting SET a 2nd time, the cab lights quit blinking and became steady, got a single horn blast and things were back to normal. What did I just do to make the cab lights strobe?

Yeah, it did! I found that about the same time you posted. Until now, I had no copy of the Owner's Manual for this engine, and I could NOT find it online at Lionel's page. I found a scanned copy somewhere on the interweb and the info was in there. Thanks for replying, John!

Oh, by the way, can you answer question #2? What exactly did I do to get the cab light blinking? I know the keystrokes to repeat it, just don't know why it's there?
