Thank you for hosting Scott Mann, I’m sure it will be very informative for those that have an interest in Scott’s products as well as some industry information on making toy trains in Asia.

I’ve meet Scott a few times and more recently exchanged e-mails with him, he is as pleasant in person as he is on your pod cast. The one thing I hope people take away from this is that, for Scott and his employees, this is first and foremost a business and as such a business must make profit or it won’t be around long. I get the feeling this point is lost on some people especially around catalog time.

I certainly don’t know what engine Scott has/had in mind to the question of  “which project would you like to do before you call it quits” but my guess it is an engine that has already been done but will do again, with new technology and building techniques, again, just my guess.

One other comment, you might want to think about soliciting questions from our audience, there might be a few that would be of interest to many, just an idea.

Thanks again.

Charlie

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for the kind words. I like the idea of submitted questions. I appreciate all that the OGR forum has done for the show and don't want to make a habit of making multiple threads about the podcast during a given month. What way would you prefer that I reach out to you and other listeners? Would you respond by email to a quick audio update on the website asking for submitted questions? Just curious what works for you as I know not everyone uses Facebook, etc.

Derek:

I see your point about not wanting to overstep your welcome. I think your idea of replying to an e-mail might be the way to start.

A single post with something like, "planning an interview with Allan Miller, what would you like to ask Allan". You don't really need to discuss any additional details unless the interview is to revolve around a certain topic. I think answering to your e-mail off line would keep a post here from hanging around too long. I hope that makes sense.

Personally, I would like to hear an interview with Allan Miller and the OGR staff about the making of an issue. I think it would be a better listen than a printed article.

The LCCA is planning audio interviews with OGR's Ed Boyle, Dr Richard Banz, Executive Director of the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotivehistory, Roger Farkash of TW TrainWorx, and key members of Lionel's new management team for next week's daily  Notch6 podcast.  We are very excited about being involved with this new media for O -Gauge Trains.  We will be on-site at the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel everyday. Stay tuned for more updates.  Thank you Derek for introducing this new communication channel Notch6 to our members and fellow hobbyists.
