aterry11, those are terrific looking NCL cars; my favorite passenger train.  Did you post on OGR when you built them?  If so, can you supply a link?  Otherwise, I'll use advance search and find them.

Also, I sent you an email in hopes of tracking down some NCL passenger car decals.  Hope you can help.

If you haven't checked out aterry11's craftsmanship, take a look at his Cascade project; there is a currently running thread in 2RS forum.

Pingman  2 442 Pullmans and a deluxe coach but they are GGD. I added some stuff not much, lights and people., Have other things to finish but NP is such a Melange of former equipment it's  going to require considerable effort to model.  Did order the Slumbercoach from Scott. It works into the consist , the domes now that is where the build is and preferably I would buy them ...Yes I said it , that don't mean I won't end up building them just hopefully not. Enough interest and Scott will build it.... Once.

Not sure it's as bad as that, really. Rolling stock seems to have gotten pretty nondescribt, but there are some nice engine schemes today. Even the plain black and white NS has done its Heritage series, which is great, and the other Class Ones are fine color-wise. And Kansas City Southern went from dull to bright, from the bland grey they'd had for years back to their traditional, very colorful red, yellow and black scheme - a big improvement.

In regional carriers, there are lots of colorful roads. As just one example, Iowa Interstate's livery is pretty sharp, and they've even done a Rock Island Heritage engine. And the bottom photo is the latest livery of a local carrier here in the Dallas area, the Dallas, Garland and Northeastern. Anyone like orange?

NP was sure a colorful road.  Outstanding.  Canadian National by me is not bad for modern day.  A lot of different schemes on a lot of different engines.  And they keep them nice and shiny for the most part, which helps any appearance.  I find it interesting that a simple black and white scheme like the NS can seem classy and strong and vibrant, where the black and white of the PC conjures up notions of dirt and grime and bad management.  Want to know how to make a good impression?  Keep your engines clean and shiny!  A scrubbed up pig looks better than a mangy poodle anyday.

I have a set of Lionel NP 2 tone passenger cars. The observation is 6-16039. I want to repaint some Lionel F3s to match. Does anyone know of a match for the dark green and light green and a source for the NP nose decal and side decals? Lynne

If you'd put your email in your profile, I'd contact your directly.

Mine is in my profile and I have what you need.

Northern Pacific is my favorite line too. Probably because it ran in my neighborhood in Brooklyn.   Well, at least it did in 1959. That year I received my first electric train, and it was the  Lionel NP Geep set with the aquarium car and the fire ladder car. Even though it was off the main line it racked up many miles in Brooklyn.   I still have it today. I like it so much that I bought the PWC same set.  I also have an MPC dummy GP.

A couple of years ago I got the MTH Railking Imperial Northern 2626 with matching cars. Imperials are a great value with somewhat enlarged scaling above the 027 sizing.  Extra detailing as well.
i also have a collection of NP cabooses in different color schemes.
At first I was put off by the road name because I had never heard of it.  But it only took a little while for me to love it with the great colors (along with the totality of the set). Something that I particularly liked was the “Radio Equipped” lettering.  It really flipped on my imagination.
Another driver for my admiration of the set and engine was the catalog picture of it that I gazed at over and over again.
Whatever road name is your favorite it’s the best line in the world.
Alan
