After nearly 30 years. The Zweig's are moving and the layout will be sawzalled. The new owners have a special needs child so they need the room. Hassan Chop! I'm sorry but I need to shed some tears!

Say it isnt so. Wow loved this layout.
Any photos???
Fantastic layout......well documented in magazine articles and at least 2 videos. I guess this is inevitable.....but sad.

Always thought it was one of the best back in the early TM video days
It's a real shame, though I knew this was coming after recently talking with Bob Lavessi who helped him build it.
Ron's layout was more than terrific, and I doubt anyone will match his overhead catenary system for realism and reliability.
Inevitable but, still a bummer! Thank God for the videos.
Curt
Yea. Bob Lavezzi built the catenary and next week he will be sawzalling it out.
It just an opportunity for Ron to re-build. Peter your so right this layout was well documented.

+1, would like to see photos if they are available.
There's bits of footage in TM's preview of the DVD that featured Ron's layout here. This is the more up to date footage of it, compared to when they first visited Ron in 1993 for Great Toy Train Layouts of America Part 5.
I got to meet Ron and view his layout many years ago. He is a great guy with a great layout. Ron let me study his layout when I was going to build catenary. Very sad story.

Will TM ever pronounce CATenary correctly? The beauty of Ron's layout is that the overhead CAN... Not "can't "...
Jon
I always liked his layout in the videos. Sorry to hear it will be cut up. Hopefully most of the layout will be put back to work at a new location soon.
