I picked up a MTH PCC trolley this weekend for cheap. I was thinking that it would be a good candidate to get the Red/White/Blue paint scheme PAT used on PCC #1776, but I do not have the capability for reproducing the white lettering. I was wondering if anyone knew of available decals.

Here’s a black & white photo of the car Greg is talking about.   The front end was painted red and the back half was blue.  The “PAT” lettering was blue.  “The Spirit …” lettering that Greg wants the decals for was white on the side and also on the front end.

Unfortunately the MTH PCC is a post-war designed PCC body with standee windows but this car was a pre-war 1600-series car (#1616) without standee windows which had been renumbered by PAT to 1776.

PCC

Aristo did a nice version in G before they went under. They pop up on the 'bay once in a  while

And note that it is the correct pre-war body style without standee windows.

Also for Greg's benefit Corgi made a PAT post-war PCC body style in red, white and blue but without the Spirit of ’76 lettering.  Attached is its photo along with the other two Pittsburgh PCC’s they made.  They numbered it “1753” but I’m not sure there was a prototype in that color scheme as the only photo I’m able to find of #1753 in the modern PAT paint scheme shows it with an orange front and back.

HTH,

Bill
