Wow, looks great! May get laid off soon so I will have the time to visit, but might have to beg for gas money to get back home.
Very nice. I spent many summers at Kennywood visiting my aunt in Wilmerding.
Will you guys be posting a video of your work (with trains running)?
Good luck!

I will try. Getting video is dufficult unless we have a slow night (usually only happens when the weather is bad but not quite bad enough to cancel). I may try to get some video before opening, but some guys don't start their trains until just before opening.

I'm sure Kennywood could use some more seasonal workers... But then again, you would have to work with lots of teenagers, and that may drive you crazy, not home...

And it's not over yet! Still 16 more nights to go
Lots of great scenes I haven't seen before! For instance, I have not seen the narrow gauge logging before.
I am going to have to get my wife to go down to Kennywood with me sometime this year!
Andy;
Congrats on a very successful opening. Your layout looks marvelous!!! You have some incredible vignettes, but my favorite has to be the vintage firefighting equipment. You and your group are a real credit to the hobby. Hope the rest of your nights are as busy.
WOW Andy!! You guys sure know how to put on a nice show. Those look like some massive crowds that really enjoy the magic you all have produced.
Amazing job as usual Andy! Congrats to you and the crew!!
I cant wait to see it. a highlight of my Christmas season. They had their setup at monroevilles Greenberg train show this nov. it was cool but this one looks way better with the inner yard to stage engines.
We are all proud of this setup, especially since circumstances limited the time we had to get the layout up and running. We put it up and had it operational in just five days.
Here is a walkaround video shot during preparation for Sunday's show with a little train action at the end:

The narrow gauge scene only comes out for longer setups like Holiday Lights, but there are some brand new scenes making their debut at this event.

Thank you Andy for all the photographs and great video!
Here is a local TV overview of Holiday Lights. Our layout is discussed around the 3:18 mark:

Delightful seeing that news tape and the walk-around video. Thank you very much for sharing them.

Another great train-related feature of Holiday Lights is the Polar Express 4-D Experience. This is a shortened version of the film (about 15 minutes run-time) in 3-D with the 4-D being probided by vibrating seats, air jets, a bubble machine, a snow making machine, and piped-in scents (hot chocolate during the musical number, and pine tree scent at the end with the kids around the Christmas Tree. It is a lot of fun to experience!
This weekend, it is even more special due to an appearance by a guest Polar Express celebrity, Eddie Deezen, who played the Know-It-All kid. He is signing autographs and taking photos (for a very modest fee). He is a great guy and has some wonderful stories of his time making the Polar Express.

Andy,
I finally listened to the KDKA interview. Great exposure once again!
That is neat that Eddie Deezen came for the Polar Express Experience! Thank you again for posting!!
