Well...finally got around to getting the viaduct kit put together and placed on the layout.  This is the TW Design / Trainworx two lane viaduct.  I don't remember the kit number but I think it is D-30..??  Anyway, it was a pleasure to assemble and is a very well done kit.  Before assembly, I painted it to represent concrete.  There will be two lanes along with the pedestrian walkways which are integrated into the design of the kit.  I am still working in this area of the layout so there is still a lot of raw wood...sorry.  There will be a dual tunnel portal just beyond the viaduct where the auto traffic will "disappear" as it travels under the city.  The single railroad track passes over the street as it enters the mainline.  Hope you enjoy the pictures.....

Thanks,

Alan

Thanks Roger....Every time I look at this scene, it reminds me of the great time we all had at the TW Design "event"....

Dale....the kit is made of MDF.  Unfortunately, it is not listed in the "products" page on the TW Design / Trainworx site.  Give Dorcie a call and I bet they will be able to help you.  They have both double and single street versions.

Thank you Marty....you are the reason why I have catenary!!

Rick....Thanks...the tunnel motor is an MTH locomotive....

Alan,

I have one of MTH's Tunnel's wearing CN's livery. The UP paint really compliments that model; very nice!

MTH did a great job on their tunnel motors; they're loaded with lots of details. There's something about this particular model that just seems "right", proportion-wise... solid looking and built to work.

BTW, my CN unit is one of my loudest, if not the loudest. In a M.U.consist, it drowns out the other units. One word - STRONG!

Whoops...Brian, almost forgot to answer your question above.  First, I think you are familiar with my philosophy of doing something special in each corner of the layout.  Instead of filling in the corners with diagonal pieces added to match the height of the benchwork, I like to build bridges, etc. in those corners where I can take advantage of curved track spanning the corner.  This particular corner is located just to the right of where you and I sat and watched trains as we visited the evening you spent here as our guest.  This would be the southwest corner as one walks around the back side of the center part of the city.....thanks Brian...
