Yunz guys are lucky as you have many good shops that are still open.

Doc:  Could that be the same location because Bill & Walt's bought up several existing shops around the Pittsburgh suburbs when they expanded beyond the downtown store?

they lost alot.  too much money to build the place and leases are high.  little guys go out.  that place had a great bowling alley/bar. a cool place to hang out.  they still are ok though, but no reason for a greensburger to go to!!  lol

I haven't been to the Mills in a couple years, but that place was losing tenants at a pretty quick rate for a while.

When I retired 3 years ago my team gave to me a $100 gift certificate for AB Charles, them thinking that it was a GOOD train store.  I had the hardest time finding a way to spend $100 there on train stuff.  Bought just odds and ends like lights and backdrops - but they had almost nothing in 'O' to pick from.

While not in the heart of Pittsburgh, still local.  The guys there are great.  Very helpful and friendly.  This is now my LHS.  Besides York and hard to find items most of my train $$$ go there.  While they can't compete 1 to 1 with the bigger online retailers, they are competitive.  More importantly they treat me well.
