I also posted this in the 3-rail/027 side. Not to long ago one of our forum members painted his Heavyweights in the Polar Express paint theme. I'd like to know what colors he used. Any help and/or directions would be appreciated. I hope to create my own Std Gauge Polar Express for the Christmas tree. Hopefully, I'll be able to post photos of the finished project.

Pappy; Are you talking about "Cando" He has done some beutiful work on some of his cars and I think he may have painted other pieces. I think the PE colors would look great on tinplate.
Chris,
I remember now, it was Keith, Thank you! Hopefully he'll chime in with the needed information.
No problem Pappy. I'm looking foward to seeing it when your finished. If you have any problems posting the photo's you can shoot them over to me and I'll post them for you.
Sorry I missed the post. Thanks for the compliment, Chris.
Pappy,
I replied to your email, but I'll post here as well, in case others want the info.

OK...I found the can of paint that I used on the above log dump car.
It is:
Krylon Fusion 2425 Satin Burgundy.
As I mentioned, it wouldn't work as an exact match, if you were modifying an already painted car. It would look great for custom painting a set of cars.
Another thing I found...
I don't know if you have any ideas for the Polar Express font for the cars. I recently ordered some Dry Transfer letters from Woodland Scenics and took note of some yellow and gold fonts that would look good. Lionel used a yellow font on the heavyweights I have.
Sorry Keith; I forgot your new handle. Your not"Cando" anymore but personally I think you can! I think the PE colors on tinplate will look great! I wish Lionel Corp. would do a RTR set in tinplate especially where Lionel has the PE rights.
Keith,
Yes, I received your email. I know that I'll be putting it to use. Chris, you're a super-trooper for having such a good memory, Thank you! I don't have very long to get eveything in order......I'll give it my best shot! LOL
I know what you mean Pappy; I'm working on a 3 car American Flyer wide gauge Christmas set I'm restoring. I'll post some pics when I'm done.
