I recently worked on a W.P. diesel for a friend, but instead of A-A units this is a A-B combination. From what I saw in books, Lionel never offered a B unit for the W.P. engines. Is this true? If so then it must be a custom painted B unit. Would appreciate your feedback as the day unwinds. Thanks,

Thanks for the info, which now verifies my findings which means this is a custom paint job. And here is why. The B unit has screens on top like the A unit, but on the underside of the B unit is the stamping #2343C, which means it is a Lionel number and was not painted by Lionel using old B unit stock, in this case 2343. I am attaching photos for you to see.

Thanks for your input. I still think these units have value for sale.
