Ran new engine about 1 hr in conventional. Started stopping then would start go about 6 inches and stop kept doing this so I took it off. I was using ZWL the red light would blink. Took it back repair guy said ok,he tested in DCS,I'm not,our club we use Legacy. Other guys with Mikes dont have problems

I ran it Sun at show in conventional same problem except it started in 15 minutes. Last night at home same problem within 15 minutes. All times about 10 to 15 regular box cars. What is the problem? I was thinking ask dealer for new engine as this shouldn't be.Dealer assistant said dcs is better, basically buy it. I'm happy with legacy.

This isn't a DCS or Legacy issue and has nothing to do with what you are describing.  To me it sounds like as something in the locomotive heats up it develops an over current situation.  While the dealer assistant is entitled to his opinion, in this case it was irrelevant to the problem at hand.  Something is wrong with the locomotive.

Update.stopped at dealer last night.owner wasn't there. Asst. explaining  about electronic systems of loco. I said other guys in club theirs function ok. He said we ll send it out for repairs. I said I bought a new loco not repaired unit. He kept on. Finally I said I'm done talking said ok goodby. Owner called me saying mfg s rep will call me today. I'll be surprised if I get call. I'm getting disgusted with the talking. When I was self employed we had to take care of customer. Period.I'm I getting to emotional? I paid for a new loco that isn't functioning. Shop said mfg will not back units with new replacements only repairs. Ideas?

Thanks. It's a Premier MTH.I was ,and still support First Responders. I had Lionel on reserve didn't like the orange even though Lionel s was a bigger, longer unit by a little. Just bought  or put on reserve a Lionel Veterans loco. I'm waiting to resolve this problem unit. I understand all mfg have issues at times.
