I have upgraded this engine to PS2 and we're having difficulty with the tack mount.  The reader that comes with the engine is one flat to the board and is way to far away from the flywheel.  I am not too enthused about trying to change the tach board (soldering that small gizmachy is not my cup-o-tea!).  I was wondering if anyone knew the specs on the motors in this engine?  Worm size, thread length, etc.  The Proto one part # is BE-0000032.

Thanks.

Thanks John, I have that info, what I'm fishing for is a motor replacement with the tach reader bracket already attached.  Have already used two brackets trying to get the silly thing spaced right and before a wipe out the tach reader....  From my perspective replacing the motor would be easier, lol.

Charly, What size is that flywheel?  27mm?  An alternative is using brass and plastic strips as spacers and epoxy to the motor.  Allowing the tach reader to get closer to the motor.  Or a dremel to cut into the plastic bracket to allow closer spacing.   Otherwise I am with John, get the right reader, probably the 47.  G

OK, OK, you talked me into it.  Had the proper reader on hand.  Also, while I was in there shortened wires, cleaned up connections, etc..  And...  Guess what!!!!

You were right!!  Of course!

I now have a well behaved, properly running, upgraded SD70 MAC.  LOL.

Now I am ready to start my second SD70 MAC.
