Just bought the new PS3.0 RK Challenger on Friday. It ran fine early today.
Now, all of the sudden it runs only at hyper speed. As soon the DCS goes to 1 SMPH then the loco takes off fast. If you turn the handheld to -0-, it will stop, but anything above -0- it runs very fast. I have tried both feature reset and factory reset functions several times.
Any suggestions?

Since it's new, my first thought would be to send it to MTH and make them fix it. Since this is the OGR forum, I'd say take the locomotive shell off and look at the speed sensor on the flywheel.

I would check your tether. I have seen on here alot of times they are hard to get plugged in.
I had a similar issue with a PS2 conversion a few years back. It turned out to be a tach tape issue. I think it was a relatively simple fix, but shell removal was required.
