Yes your dealer can do it, yes to just loading the PS-2 3V SF and leaving original Flash code it, than lights should work, but there is always a chance some light features change.  Smoke puff is triggered with chuff, but not sure you would see a difference in some sort of double puff.  G

You won't get the advanced lighting features of a PS/3 board as the PS/2 board didn't support those.

I should have specified a PS2 sound file in a PS3 locomotive. 

You did you said you have a PS-3 RK engine.  John's statement is not correct.  You only change the SF, not the flash code.  He is confusing the issue.  G
