Question about Lionel SD40 Chessie Engine - 6-82274 | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Does the Lionel SD40 Chessie Engine 6-82274 (from 2015 Lionel Signature Catalog) come with the standard type coupler/pilot that is attached to the truck OR does it come with the newer "kinematic" floating coupler/pilot that is not attached to the truck but is attached to the frame and swings in and out as it goes around curves? From video clips I have seen on the internet, it looks like the Chessie engine has the older style coupler/pilot attached to the trucks. I am looking for confirmation from someone who owns this engine.

Hi Dudley... these are the all new tooling Sd40s and they have the kinematic pilots... here are some pics...

They are great engines, some of my favorites... love this new tooling...
