The Southeastern Division of the TCA is having a Train swap meet and show this Sunday (February 16) in the Kerr Scott Building at the NC Fairgrounds in Raleigh, NC.  The hours are 10 to 3 (if you are a TCA member the doors open at 9).  This is usually a very good show with over 150 tables of trains for sale.  There will also be operating layouts in O, S, N, Standard and maybe an HO layout.  The local garden RR club will have their new modular layout set up.  This is a very kids friendly show with an active Kids club, ride on train for the small fry and train races.

Looks like the roads will be in good condition by Sunday, so if you are in the area, please drop by.

Hope to see you there,

Don.

Just got home from it.  I am very grateful for the reminder because I get so caught up in family schedules and work I sometimes overlook the TCA.

These meetings tend to ebb and flow in size ver time and today's was only about 80% r so as many tables as last time, but the aisles were crowded and I saw many friends there.

And I bought more than usual: being short of cabeese I found nice ATSF scale side cupola caboose that looks interesting, and I love bobber cabooses and found a lovely PRR one.  Then, almost unbelieveably, someone a whole table of what looked like brand  new power supplies from Bachmann RTR HO sets - 0-17VDC for $2 each.  They are small but one will handle two 'Streets vehices, and I have wanted to find some to separately power each of my small (1-14 ft around) 'Streets loops.

I was there with my 4 year old, he wanted to buy one of everything. Tempered that enthusiasm and left with only one set of NYC passenger cars.

I am getting back into things with my son, pulling out all the "investments" I made in the late 90's and running everything as the toys that they are! I have attended 2 previous shows in Raleigh and didn't buy much, but I noticed a bunch of quality items I really liked this time.
