Ready-to-Run 4-6-0

Regarding Ed Brown's review of the MTH 4-6-0 Ready-to-Run Set in OGR Run 259, it appears to me that the prototype for the locomotive is the a New York Central Putnam Division 4-6-0 like NYC 1244 in the attachment. The tender is Pennsy. This MTH 4-6-0 has been around for a while, and the 30-1158 version (below) is a New York Central locomotive. Adding some details to the MTH 4-6-0 can make this a sweet looking low dollar locomotive with PS 3.0.

I too found the article interesting. I may have to grab one for the kids to play with. Then again, I already have several such engines that get no track time.

Some conventional, some PW, a couple PS-1...
