I have some extra Weaver drive systems the old chain drive 1 motor to gear set on the axle and a drive shaft from here to the rear axle drives.

I had some ABBA sets and gutted some of the engines so I only had 2 powered engines in each ABBA set of the Weaver FA engine sets.

I have some extra gears so split gears is not an issue easy to swap in some spares.

But I was thinking of using the left over motors and drives for other engine projects. But I need some truck frames for the old Atlas F9 engines and some Geep kits.

So I need the side frame with the detail and some dummy wheels to fit in the old Weaver wheel frames.

Any suggestions?

Here are pics.

Weaver Silver trucks Atlas old style on left.

Atlas has side frames just loose axles held in truck assembly.

Weaver has side frames holding the axle ends.

I am probably risking being excommunicated from this website for saying this....P&D Hobbyshop have Blomberg sideframes - I have a brass set, absolutely exquisite detail.  Precision Scale Co have just about everything imaginable, and they might have their diesel catalogue on-line now, but I can't be sure 'cos I was too busy drooling over their steam catalogue to take any notice ;-)

Failing that, dummy locos are always available on E-bay, could maybe find a bargain just for the sideframes?

In addition to their brass EMD Blomburg trucks, P&D offers lower cost plastic ones.  With P&D parts one can readily power/repower Atlas F9's or Red Caboose GP9's.  NWSL sells 40" diameter wheel sets to put under your dummy ALco's.  They also offer geared replacement wheel sets for Weaver drives.  Both P&D and NWSL are "go to suppliers" for O scale diesel  projects.

P&D also had some Alco Plastic truck frame (no wheelsets) in stock.   I think they were old Weaver inventory.    He may be sold out now.

I have used this drive in All Nation F Units and switchers using the All Nation trucks.   It worked fine.

The axles and wheelsets seem to be a common 2 rail size, so almost any 2 rail traditional style truck with outside bearings should work (that is the axle actually rides int he side frame).
