Never done this before. Scared to death(Postwar guy who is very capable with that stuff.) Did the back rears by unscrewing the drive rod, lowering out of the way , then slipping the tire over the wheels. Reassemble in reverse order back to original placement of the wheels, rods etc. . All is good.. The front drivers have everything in the way(other drive rods)  so getting to the wheels is blocked (impossible) for the new traction tire replacements. Did not remove the mechanism -trying to do in place. The exploded diagram with the original paperwork is for lubrication points only. Any help would be appreciated!.. Thanks guys.

GPCC, I have a Weaver Nickel Plate Berkshire. Tomorrow I will look in my files and see what I have for an O&M manual. Weaver seemed a little lax in that information. I have 4 other Weaver steamers and several did come with better O&M information. As far as this engine is concerned, there is plenty of help available should you get stuck here. If you go on the search here, put in "How Slow Can A Weaver Go". You will see my Berk several years ago after just being retrofitted with a new transmission, can motor and a telescoping drive shaft. This work was done by Pat Norcross of Harmon shop fame here on the Forum. The engine runs sweet now. Pat also took one of my Weaver New Haven I-5's and made new side rods for it when the original Weaver rods seemed to be disintegrating. He completed a complete retrofit of the engine and transmission along with electronics. If I can not help you, we can give Pat a call and I know he will have the answer for you.I will forward you some info tomorrow. If your email is not on your profile, please look at my profile and send me an email where I cans end info. Regards, Bill
