The model in question, 20-2148, is one of the models that had the defective chip that deselects when used with a weak battery. More than likely that is causing your problem. A new chip would cost about $30 and an installation charge if you could not do it yourself. If you are the original owner and have the sales slip, you might get MTH to honor it as defective and give you the new chip. As this engine was built back in 1997, they might not agree do the age of the unit, but it never hurts to try!
