That's because RMT doesn't sell direct, they refer you to their dealers.

And to add to what GRJ said, near the top of the linked page it says “Delivery Starting Spring 2022”.  It’s not Spring 2022 yet, so there’s nothing available to buy yet.

No stirrup steps on scale cars?

Not good.

The prototype for these models look like repurposed boxcars: roofs removed, doors sealed, and short side extensions. Several railroads did this.  For me, I wonder if the PRR did this?  Need to check my car book.

And for this price, I can add stirrups if I want.

UPDATE:  Looking closely at the build (or rebuilt) dates on the cars, they go from '45 to '83.  The Pennsy car has a build date of 1946 and it has the correct markings for that time.  Looks like all the other dates match the markings on the cars.  Nice attention to detail.

SIRT...these are just mainly artwork images to show the painting scheme. When actual finished samples are received from factory, will post photos.

CAPPilot...the PRR cars are painted/lettered in PRR practice for the time based upon PRR automobile boxcars.

Is there an ETA for the RMT woodchip cars?

Ready Made Trains website is saying late February for the woodchip cars.  To be sure, you can always call one of the dealers.

Lionelzwl2012... Yes the Woodchip cars will have manual uncoupler ability but not a side lever or thumbtack style...underneath will have a plate that drops down with your fingernail or electric uncoupler. Anything else would interfere with air hose and compromise the scale look.

CAPPilot...appreciate your comments. Research allowed a very prototypical 'what-if' PRR woodchip car. And yes, other RRs woodchip cars have some prototypical accuracy too.

The earlier ore cars had an air hose and a side lever.

rplst8...Yes you are correct but your comments were about earlier production Ore Cars from 2009. The new upcoming RMT Ore Cars are entirely new toolings and to incorporate an improved truck assembly and wheels...the air brake hose attachment location has been moved to on top of coupler instead of below the coupler shank. The uncoupling lever has been changed from side and will not interfere with air brake hose placement.

I ordered the 4-pack (RMT-WVWOODCHIP), and 3 of the 4 cars just arrived. The Meadow River Lumber Co. wasn’t included -not sure why.  I haven’t had a chance to open the other 3 yet.

Looks like the 4th car is delayed a month or two.

I am interested in the B&M and Maine Central cars. I see some other road names were delivered already, but don't know what their schedule is. Just that every couple of months I hear "due soon" or "due next month".

Some pics of the 3 cars received are attached. They are pretty good looking overall, especially for the price. The only thing I don’t care for is the color of the woodchip load. It’s too yellow. It will get painted some time in the future.

Interested to see how you knock the macaroni and cheese out of the woodchip load. Might be a good candidate to just coat with saw dust and glue it down. Glad this was bumped, just ordered some.

Plastic loads regardless of the type of car they are placed in never look very attractive.  This is a great looking car and deserves a real wood chip load.

This is obviously not an RMT car, but I plan to do a similar treatment to my RMT cars when they arrive.

Heard the 2021 RMT ore cars are slated to be out in January 2024.
