I have just gotten some RMT/K Line,RMT k line switch 031 switches. They come with a very short curved section of track attached to the diverging route, as well as another short curved piece in the box. (See photo)

How are these two sections supposed to be used during installation? They are ALMOST exactly the same size. The instruction sheet makes no mention of their use.

Thanks

1.  The switch in the pic is set to use with a curved Snap Track. (0-31)  This will make a 90 degree curve.

2, The loose piece is designed to be used in place of the piece already attached if you are joining it to a NON SNAP TRACK piece.  i.e  a regular 0-31 tubular curved section.

3. my pic attached uses both curves.   I have 6 of these 0-31 switches on mine and have SNAP TRAK and Regular Shadow Rail curves.

4 If you leave off the smaller piece of curve track you will have a 30 degree curve in stead of 45 degrees and could complete a 90 degree with 2 additional pieces of 0-42 curved track.  Note you can mate this track up to Lionel Tubular with steel track pins.

Thanks for that info. I will be using mine with 027 profile track, and both 042 and 027 curves. I will just see what fits in best in each individual location then.

You will most likely need to put shims under your O27 track to get the 2 styles of track to mate as the RMT switches have a higher profile than O27 track.  Your switches will take the regular O-Gauge track pins, which are larger diameter than the O27 track pins. The transition pins made by Gargraves might work but I'm not certain.
