It's not S gauge but Rochester is the home to a historic layout: the PAL (Police Atheletic League) Lionel layout from 1951. It has recently been restored and is an interesting look at early 50's large display layouts. It was built with the assistance of some of Lionel's people that built the showroom layout in NYC.
