Shutting Down Locos in LionChief App?

Yes, Legacy or TMCC allows the silent but powered option as well as shutdown sound sequence.

I remember asking about this last Christmas and getting the answer here that the Lionchief app does not support turning the locomotive off.

Which seems like a fairly obvious function to have included and I can't imagine what obstacle stopped Lionel from including this functionality.  It would be nice to be able to push a button in Lionchief and make the engine turn off.

Thanks! I was afraid this was true. As I suspected when I got this Legacy loco (it's my first), I'll have to invest in the Legacy system to get the most out of it. I hope I'm not damaging the electronics by disconnecting power when the loco is in idle.

No, by definition conventional operation would vary and drop the voltage multiple times in a normal running session.

This is one reason why I have bought the Base 3. Plus I have some very nice TMCC engines I have only run in conventional mode and am looking forward to seeing what they will do.
