have a dummy unit ,that iwant to install a fan driven smoke unit,running tmcc,what lionel unit can i use to run off of track power,will use an on and off switch.

the 27 ohm lionel smoke unit..boxcar bill has them with on and off switch...
You can use the Lionel unit, and if you want your dummy unit to appear to require maintenance, use the MTH PS/1 smoke unit. Both will run directly off track power. Switching them is as simple as putting a series switch in the power path.
If you want to get fancy, you can run a small tether to the dummy unit and use a relay to control the smoke unit from the primary unit's smoke power. That way when you shut down the smoke from the remote, both units will stop smoking.
ERR also sells a special module that is intended for dummy units that controls smoke, lights, and electrocouplers, it's listed for $35 on their site.
Thanks for the replies,going to use lionel 610 8057 200,have same unit in powered engine with tmcc.do i still run track power for dummy unit ,and getting fancy.how do i wire the relay to turn both units off,i think i read, a 5v relay.any help in a wiring diag.for relay

Run the powered smoke unit smoke output over to the dummy using a small tether, I like the Minitronics Micro Mini Connectors for this kind of task. Wiring in the dummy would look something like this.
