Also, it seems you still have some open space in your living room to expand the layout.  I'll be looking forward to progress pictures of the expansion!

I agree.  He has no need for a sofa, coffee table, tv and the dining room table can go as well!! Lol

Very true Greg!  But he can still have the tv, just high enough on the wall above the layout.  And he can still use the couch to watch it.  But he only needs half of it, with just enough leg room in front of the layout to get to it.  The other half can be space for a small storage yard or town.  All he needs is the bedroom, bathroom and fridge and he's all set.  I thought he'd have it all built by now.

Plus I think he has about a foot wide top on the half-wall partition which separates the kitchen from the living room. It would make for a nice stub-end yard or industrial area!

Wow, great pictures.  It's just amazing what all of this lighted stuff adds to a layout.  It may get to be too much eventually with too much lights that everything else gets kind of lost, but for now, just wow.

I also wonder about your open grave in the midst of all of that joy!?

Yes the open grave. When the railroad was being built they came upon this grave forcing the railroad to move the track. The grave found is a alien being about 8 to 10' tall so it is now a archeological site.

That is my story and I'm sticking with it.

David, nice looking pictures, I was wondering if then Christmas lights on the houses can be turned off with the light on the inside still lit?

I don't see a way of doing that.

Looks great Dave.  I was on the fence whether to buy those Menard's lighted vehicles and the Christmas box cars.  But now I'm thinking I might!

I don't know about the living room stuff Brian. The way the Eagles are going (and it probably took you moving to California to get them moving), Dave might want a 72 inch TV for the living room. Gotta give up that Phillies hat for an Eagles hat. Or better yet, a NJ HiRailers Trainstock hat.

Ok guys your killing me. But you never know.

Hey Brian, how are you in that crazy state of California. Are you close in getting your train building started?

Dave

Things are going well so far, thanks for asking.  The weather is wonderful but the unpacking is a drag, especially being delayed from dad's funeral.  I still have to sort out the trains since the movers put them all over the place, in spite of the directions we gave them.  But I'm hoping to start the interview process for builders in early Spring.  Here is the space I have to work with on the side yard.

Gerry, I had to do something!  The Eagles have disappointed all of my life.  But I may go to the game at the Rams just to see if my jinx has lifted.  Dave can keep wearing the Phils cap, the Phightin's are on their way up!  As far as the Trainstock hat, they are always fashionable.  Especially as worn by the lovely model in the Trainstock 10 thread!

Dave, what engine are you using for your Christmas Train?
