Nice, I like those. What is the min curve on those?

Do you have part numbers for any of the Atlas or MTH cars you listed?
Sinclair, you could run these cars on 042 or larger. They sit extremely low but that does not alter the swing on the curves.

MTH has a good search feature on their product locator page. You can search the Premier line for Twin Stacks or Husky Stacks and get several pages of results.

Atlas likes to hide their past products from potential customers so they don't have a functional search feature to their web site.
Atlas have made half a dozen production runs of Gunderson Twin Stacks. Change the last digit for the 3rd and following runs.

Only one production run of Maxi IVs has been announced by Atlas so far.
Thanks Ted, and the rest of you. I now know what I should be looking for, and where. Now I can get what I want.
The closest O scale model to the Maxi-Stack 40' Well articulated container cars are the Gunderson 40' well intermodal container cars that were produced for K-Line in China.
Bachmann could have the Gunderson 40' well cars produced as articulated cars if they were prompted by high demand.
Andrew
The Gunderson double-stack cars that were produced for MDK K-Line in China could be made articulated. They were not offered as articulated cars, but the sides and ends were designed like the Gunderson Maxi-Stack articulated cars, not the Husky-Stack or Gunderson All Purpose Well Cars. It would be much easier to make the K-Line Gunderson well-car into an articulated car then the MTH Husky-Stack well cars.

If anyone is interested I have quite a few of the end pieces male and female to make articulated sets 3-4-5 car sets of the above, email is in my profile.

I would be, but then I'd need these cars too. Who made them and what are the catalog numbers?
The tricky part is getting the middle car. Back in the day you had to send in a coupon to k-line after you bought the two of the 2-fer sets. At least, that's what I heard.
The K-Line Gunderson Well Car was a single 40' well that is for a MAXI-STACK 5-unit articulated car. They labeled it like a Husky-Stack car with a 48' well, even though the longest container it can carry in the well is a 40' container.
Bachmann can produce a MAXI-STACK, 40' well, 5-unit, articulated car if they connected these wells like the Thrall Car well cars.
Andrew
These are the 40' well, 5-unit, Maxi-Stack cars that are still in service. The K-Line MDK single unit Gunderson 40' well cars are similar to these cars. The brakeline details would need to be added to make them into the 5 unit cars.
These older Gunderson MAXI-STACK 40' well 5-unit cars also look like the K-Line MDK Gunderson 40' well intermodal cars. The car seems to be a combination of the two versions. These brake-line details are even more obvious.
Great pictures
I hope Lionel continues these, they are inexpensive, and you can make a nice long prototypical intermodal train.
I need to check the number but I have one of the early MTH 5 car spline set that can eith containers and trailers. Must be 10 years old by now.
Wow, my very old thread popped back up. I still need to get my hands on a bunch of O31 compatible cars to make a long train with. Right after I get my main line laid, and my locomotives converted to TMCC so I can MU them.
