Are you buying or selling during the winter?

LIMITED BUYING - SUMMER GETS THE BEST DEALS ALWAYS. SELLING IS BETTER IN THE WINTER. NO ONE IS ON THE COMPUTER IN THE SUMMER - CAN YOU BLAME THEM ??
I would imagine that the weeks leading up to Christmas are best for sellers, especially for those selling on eBay.
Neither, I am currently holding what I have, waiting for lots of pre-orders from last year.
I have yet to sell anything train or layout related.
Good question Paul? Depends on the time of day and the day of the week

No doubt that this is true. Holliday's are also good for buyers. I have never understood the wisdom of sellers that have their auctions finish on predictably preoccupied dates and times. Such blunders are certainly desired by buyers.
Hi
I sold a half of my collection I started the purge back in Oct 2015 at the request of my wife. She was right and the collect got out of hand. I had HO and O scale trains it is a long story short a family feud about the trains that got settled a few years ago. The O scale was all over the map, Prewar, Post War and Modern. The same story with the track system. MTH track, Atlas and Fastrack. Reading ALOT of threads on repair and options on various subject the collection has been updated to modern transformers 2 ZW-C from PWZW and two KWs. Some of the engines and freight cars where also replaced to match the new theme. In the upgrade process two TIU where purchased and Legacy 990 system. The theme now is transit trains in the Tri State area (NYC subway, Metro North and NJ transit), also included are NYC Central and PPR. I have not gotten to LI RR yet I might or might not include them in the new collection. There are still a few item I would to add but that will have to wait until we purchase the new house.
I have not sold anything since 1963 except one of those Williams pre-RMT "Beep"s that were worse than the Kusan piece it was based on.
So, I guess that means I'm BUYING.
SELLING! I have a very short list of items I will buy, otherwise it is sell, sell, sell. I just received what may well be my last pre-order ever, a Lionel Milwaukee Road Heavy Mikado. I had been considering 2 other pre-orders, one from 3rd Rail and one 0 gauge tinplate set, and decided against both of them. I'm out of storage room.
