I have certain track locations that need a vertical track fence to prevent locomotives/cars from falling to the basement concrete floor if a derailment occurs. I was considering either 1/8 in thick lexan(clear) or 1/8 in high impact(white) styrene strip probably 2 to 2.5 inches high screwed sideways to a wood extension strip mounted to the bottom of the train board. The strip must be flexible to bend to a radius slight larger for car clearance on the radius track but also must have sufficient stiffness to stop a locomotive or car truck from climbing over the vertical fence in a derailment.  Vertical guard to be attached to wood extension on 90 degree screwed joint.  Track radii are estimated to be 40 to 45 inches.
