Super/EZ Streets Trolley Question

I've had success running a PS1 MTH trolley on my streets, with an HO DC transformer and on D16 curves.  

What I do need to do though is find a way to make the lights inside the unit brighter in relation to the little amount of voltage it takes to run the thing at something close to a legitimate operating speed.

Yes you can get a trolley that runs on DC.

Atlas Industrial Rail has many versions that will run on DC such as:

this is just an old internet listing but it shows the trolley in one of it's paint schemes (there are many) and it's power options.

Ebay has quite a few for sale.

You will have to remove the truck travel limit screws accessible only from inside the 

body of the trolley. You can search this forum to find a detailed discussion on how to do this.

I successfully removed them from my trolley and it now traverses the 8" radius curves smoothly.

I just found the posting that described the means of removing the truck limiting screws from an Atlas Industrial Rail Trolley.

Original posting from member "Silver Lake":

"I can talk you through. When I take new things apart I always take pics as I go(ironic I know). What you need to do is take off the truck limiting screws these go down from the inside of the body. There is one for each truck and are to the center of the truck. To do this first take off the shell I think 4 screws up from the bottom. Then lift off the shell. Then remove the screws of the electric board to get to the bumper reverse bar. Under that bar is one little screw on each truck that limits the truck from turning too far. The trucks could be turned 90degrees to pull them out but with the shell back on it limits that from happening. I think they are there for ease of assembly but the trolley is better and more versatile without them. Then put it all back together sans two screws and you are good to go."

If you acquire one of these trolleys the above task is very easy to do.

If you adjust the "truck limiting" on various trolleys and locos you can get quite a few to run on Superstreets.  My favorite is the RMT BANG - it runs quite nicely on "Streets and it looks impressive running down a city street.
