superstreets vehicles

Check out Bachman on Ebay.

The Lionel vehicles are for most part gone now. Very few dealers have any vehicles left, although some of the larger dealers have stock of miscellaneous track and D16 curves. The line was picked up by Bachmann and is known as Bachmann E-Z street.  The only possible options for Superstreets now are eBay or vendors at train shows.

This is, for the most part, where I get mine.

America's Best Hobby has a few Lionel Super Streets vehicles left and a full line of E-Z Street vehicles.

There also still some K-Line Motorized vans around that pre-date Super Streets.  I found out about these thanks to Lee Willis.

Western Depot or Trainworld might have some of the original K-Line Super Street vehicles.

 

I bought my UPS van for about $26.00 around six years ago at my local hobby shop in Lantana FL. Since then he has sold out most of K-Line products, only the K-Line remote control and a pair of shadow rail straight tracks remain.

 

Bachmann sells stuff at very high prices on their website. You will do much better for prices at either www.trainworld.com or at www.westerndepot.com or at Mario's Trains on their website.

Just curious, what is the rarest superstreet vehicle?

That is one thing I would like to know as well.

Probably the original Step Van (UPS type van), made by K-Line in 2006.  When Lionel started making them it put smaller wheels (the same size as on the smaller panel van) on it.  K-Line had slightly larger wheels on it that looked a bit better.

 

 

Most of the step vans you can buy now at the K-Line by Lionel type with the smaller wheels.   

Lee, or anyone else for that matter, of the vehicles that are readily available which tend to be the best out of the box performers.

 

Lee, from what I recall you ended up modifying most all the new items you purchased in order to fix one oddity or another when it came to getting them to run reliably.

** The spring pressure on the sedan's center rollers is very light and it is easy to damage them by heavy-handed treatment of them.  Other than that they are excellent runners.

 

No 'Strets vehicle will cruise smoothly at much below 35 scale mph however.   for that you need modifications.

I think that I have the K-Line UPS van that was made before the Lionel take over.

Hmm this is a little tricky. So, the K line step van before Lionel changed them still came in a Lionel box? The photo that you emailed me was still a blue lionel box but the vehicle itself had a k line part number? Perhaps they were produced before the take over, never sold until Lionel came into the picture? I've never seen a step van in a yellow and black box like the speeder vans at are clearly k line

I started with Superstreets and I have to say that the vehicles I bought before the new Bachmann sedans arrived sucked and looked very unrealistic.  Now, I know there is value in them to take them apart and put the guts in other vehicle bodies, but to run them as is, they just don't look that great.  

I won't quote any prices, but with Mario's current Williams Promotion, you will find a very favorable price on the newer Williams Sedans. I've recently purchase (8) of them. Great deal but offer ends soon.
