Switcher Saturday: 2018-September-15

A French BB 64700 diesel switcher. This specific model is still in use today in big railyards and always operate coupled with it’s “cow” as you call it, in French we call it truck… This truck consists in a shorten loco chassis without cab and of course offer more power to the single locomotive. Now all those engines are going to retirement.

The model has been made by a talented modeler on a base of RV ZERO trains, continuity of AS who makes some very nice models, only 8 models have been made.

There were some great posts last week. I love that French Cow and Calf unit. Very cool.

Here is my MTH SD70ACE that I just converted from 3 to 2 rail. It was surprisingly easy and took under 15 minutes.Here it is half way.

Here is a kit off EBay that slipped away from me. I have never seen one of these. An EMC 40  has been on my want list for a long time. This kit had a short production run from a British company.

I can take some close ups pics when I have the load items are ready. The crane looking much better, when its really lift something.

Happy Switcher Saturday everyone. Late to the party again...I feel like I should wish for a return of winter weather so I have less outdoor yard work to do.

Here is my Lionel prewar #230. This was my third from last prewar switcher purchased. My friend Bill used Bondo to restore the headlight housing. In the end, you really could not tell.

Picked the guy up in St.Louis today at my favorite Hobby Shop. This is my first switcher It’s a post war 1950-51 Lionel enjoy the pics
