No, I'm not refering to hunting, but rather photographing trains, etc.  What has been there for many years may not be there tomorrow.  Case in point is this forlorn PRR switcher I photographed in Jan 2020 at Hockessin, DE, and subsequently posted here.   It appeared to have been there for many years.  Poof !,  come March of this year, the track is empty ! - (the track is to the right of my mirror brace)  I checked the Wilmington & Western website then & there was no mention of it's change in status....   What RR scenes of interest to you IMG_0519IMG_0621are here now and may not be tomorrow ?

This has become my primary railfanning mission the last few years.  As actual current railroading has gotten more and more sparse and generic, I have devoted CONSIDERABLE time to document what was there and what is STILL there before it disappears.  In the last handful of years, I photographed Homan Ave. Tower (Hammond IN), Calumet Tower (East Chicago), IU Tower (Indy) and Leipsic (Ohio).  Now, all are gone.   A few years ago, I photographed all of the Pennsy position light signals between Wabash and Goshen Indiana.  Now, all are gone.   Last fall, I photographed the old NKP signals guarding the diamond at Walkerton Indiana.  Those are in the process of being replaced (Thank you PTC-NOT).  I hear similar things about the B&O signals at Seymour Indiana that I photographed last fall.   My advice is, digital memory is cheap.  SHOOT EVERYTHING, because tomorrow it just be might not be there anymore.
