The LCCA Has Successful Weekend Out West In CA!

The Lionel Collectors  Club of America (LCCA) had a great and successful
weekend in California this past weekend Feb 9 & 10.  We just completed two
of our four Special Events scheduled for this February and March, 2013.
Our first stop was in San Diego for the World's Greatest Hobby on Tour  Show
(WGHOT) on February 9-10.   During that same weekend, I headed up north to
San Jose for the Golden Gate Lionel Railroad  Club's Train show on Sunday,
2-10-13.

Club volunteers Larry Black, Mike Battaglia and I had a great time meeting
with our LCCA members and their families near San Diego.  We also very much
appreciate the interest expressed about future LCCA/Lionel FasTrack Modular
Railroad activities and about possible future LCCA special events to be held
in CA.  We are looking forward to converting these conversations into
actions and creating fun and family oriented future LCCA Special Events
together.

Thanks go out to LCCA members John Rinaldi and Mike Design (LCCA member &
President of The Golden Gate Lionel Railroad club) for their continued
cooperation and support by hosting the successful 2-10-13 Toy Train Sale and
Show in San Jose Ca.  There was a lot of excitement and enthusiasm received
about the LCCA/Lionel FasTrack Modular Railroad system and LCCA Special
Events Activities. Everyone seemed to have a great time watching the trains
run on their modular layout as well as all of the great deals on toy train
purchases.  Congratulations to all of the lucky door prize winners!  Thank
you to all of the members and their families for attending and supporting
this wonderful event.   We appreciate your attendance and look forward to
seeing you there again next year.

I want to personally thank all of the members who stopped by our displays
and welcome all of the new members who joined the club this past weekend.
We appreciate you joining and we look forward to your active participation
within our club.  Everyone has at least one good train story to share with
other members.  Every article written in our club publications, The Lion
Roars (TLR) Interchange Track (IT) and The Lion Cub (TLC) is written by a
fellow member. So I expect some of you to contribute by writing a story and
sharing your personal experiences with Lionel Trains.  I am certain other
members will enjoy reading about your experiences.

The LCCA will continue to be out west in California later this month.   We
had a great Sacramento convention back in 2009, so we  are glad to be headed
back to Sacramento for the February 23-24 WGHOT show.   Then we will finish
out the WGHOT season with a show in San Mateo CA on March 2-3.

World's Greatest Hobby on Tour (WGHOT) in Sacramento, CA February 23-24,
2013 - Show Location California Exposition & State Fair (CAL-EXPO)
1600 Exposition Blvd,   Sacramento, CA 95852

World's Greatest Hobby on Tour (WGHOT) in San Mateo, CA March 2-3, 2013

Show Location
The San Mateo County Event Center
1346 Saratoga Drive, San Mateo, CA 94403

These WGHOT shows are great ways to introduce our club to train show
visitors as well as an opportunity to meet and talk with our members that
live in the region. If you haven't experienced a WGHOT  show, I recommend
you try to attend one of these shows.  Several thousand visitors attend
these shows each day.   The LCCA booth will be located adjacent to Lionel's
operating layout and display.   LCCA's  mini-layout which was designed and
built by TW Train Worx of Dallas TX will be in operation during these shows.
Come and see the Lionel/LCCA FasTrack Modular Railroad layout first hand.
Bring your entire family and  friends!   Introduce them to the Magic of
Lionel Trains and the benefits of belonging  to the LCCA.  I encourage you
to  participate in these LCCA Special Event activities.

We hope to see you there!
