I've been kicking around the idea of rebuilding my layout for about a year now and had planned to start on it after the Christmas season but my 3 six month old kittens decided I needed to get started as soon as possible.

I really didn't need their help but probably should appreciate the push to get started. I've taken down the buildings, trees and what not and now I'm in the process of taking up the track. I'm going to go with all tubular track and to that end I want to know is,  A: didn't K-Line make an O84 tubular track? I haven't been able to find any listed anywhere but I thought they did and B: if anyone out there wants/needs any solid rail Realtrax I will have a ton of it available in the near future (switches, crossings, various radius curves) that I will be posting on the Forum For Sale Or Trade. Now if I ultimately decide to go with Standard gauge like I've been kicking around I'll be having a fire sale to unload my stuff and free up cash for the new trains.

The game plan is to scale back my original plans to an 8x12 layout in it's own separate room walled off from the rest of the basement by french door slabs for walls so it's still visible from the rest of the basement and making the rest of the basement for display shelves, furniture, air hockey table, train room accessories, etc. so it still has a "guy" feel to it but not be overwhelmed by the layout (original plan? pack as much layout in the basement as possible).

Not sure of the time frame for the rebuild since we're going to have an addition and front porch put on the house so my wifes prioritys aren't the same as mine so I'm planning either a small portable layout or a modest 4x8 in the garage until I get started. Wish me luck, haven't done this in a long time but I do know where I made the mistakes in the past so you know what that means, I get to make all new mistakes this time!

K-Line made O-81, O-96 and O-120 in the larger curve sizes.  The ones I have are traditional style tubular (only a few metal ties per section), but I think they may have also done the same sizes in ShadowRail (more ties, but plastic).

Good luck with your re-build!

Well, finally got most of it taken down, now I just have to resist the urge to begin the rebuild before I finish the room (already suffering withdrawal). The first few images are what it looked like in it's glory days, next the kitten redecorating and finally the tear down.

These are the "CATS"-enjammer kids in question, looking all innocent and keeping the world safe from sparrows and squirrels.

Pretty big for  little over 7 months old, hope they stop growing soon or I will need to switch to Standard gauge just to keep their destructive tendencys in check.
