However, I would install that BCR and check the battery that is in the unit as soon as possible.

The PS 2 - 5 volt boards are prone to damage with a bad battery.

Until you take a look, there is no telling what battery is in use.

Yeah, but I like living dangerously! Hahaha.

Actually, it's a moot point because not long after I finished filming the video the old battery gave out. So I'll need to replace it anyway.

This inspired me to pick one up from Trainz. I had to replace the "Wincap" along with the other capacitors on the 5V PS2 board and when I got it, there was no white battery- no battery at all. Now it has a BCR and runs great. Hoping the capacitor replacement (AKA SLEP Service Life Extension Program) gives me a little more life on the board, but if it doesn't well, a PS2 3V board is standing by.
