What ever size or shape you need is on eBay. Here are two searches top for magnets and the bottom for reed switches.  I used to use the 1mm X 5mm round disk magnets but have switched to 1mm X 5mm X 10mm  These rectangular magnets allow you to mount them in different orientations to control the length of time the switch is closed. Such as the long dimension pointed towards the center of the wheel gives a shorter duration vs the long side running along the circumference of the wheel giving a longer duration. The change in orientation affects the sound enough that if you have two identical locos you will be able to tell the difference between the two locos.   One nice thing about Gunrunnerjohn's  superchuffer is that you can control the duration of the chuff via his electronics so you can try it at different settings and choose which you like best. Then you may easily change it without having to pry magnets loose after gluing them to the drive wheels.          j
