My question today is this: Can a MTH Z Controller somehow interfere with the Cab1 system speed control?

I have two TMCC locos sitting on the track. Both have ERR TMCC.   When I power up my Z-1000 controller, loco 1 starts in reset state, like it didn't see the TMCC signal.   I power off and power up again and loco 1 is now silent.  The loco 2 starts up TMCC state always.    I address loco 2 and apply throttle with the Cab1. Loco 2 will take off faster than normal, like it is in 32 speed step mode instead of 100 speed step mode.  Other times it takes off at full speed.  When this is occurring I have normal whistle, bell, tower talk using the remote. Only the loco speed is affected so I don't think the loco is losing the command signal.

Other times everything works very well and as it should.

I read somewhere in a post that the Z Controllers were iffy but there weren't any details given and I can't find that post again to ask for more detail.  I bought the Z-1000 used in late December and it was only after I installed it did I start having these issues.    I moved the command base at the same time I installed the Z-1000 to under the table but near where I sit so the Cab1 remote is close to the base.

Many Thanks

Ward
