top 5 favorite railroads

Since there are only six class one railroads in the U.S. now, this is sort of an odd question.

Since everyone else answered the question with their favorite railroads...current or past...that is an odd answer.

The original poster did NOT mention anything about railroads in the "past", but listed his favorite railroads of "today" (both the 'Seaboard System/Family Lines, and Conrail are now part of CSX and NS respectively) of which their are only six Class 1 railroads.

The "original poster" also did not mention anything about "today."  He just listed his favorite railroads...they just happened to be "today" railroads.  As is obvious other people listed their favorite railroads...as the post suggested.  "For what it's worth" and "just my opinion," it seems as if you may have been the only one looking at the current six class one railroads only.

I am a fan of many railroads. I have a hard time narrowing it down. I love all the stuff I grew up seeing in northwest Indiana. But, now that I live in Mississippi and enjoy the trains with my seven year old, the list has changed to some of the trains we see locally.
