Thanks Ausstive was just wondering about the tubular after seeing catolog i use fastrack now in 0 and s but used the tube many years ago,its it would be a good entry level for those with a budget or who grew up with it

Since Lionel, and others, have manufactured "0" gauge tubular track for over 100 years there should be more than an adequate supply available on the secondary market.

Fastrack is now aimed at the entry-level market, given that Lionel includes it in all of its O gauge electric sets. I keep hearing conflicting remarks -- that Lionel has indefinitely discontinued tubular track or that Lionel will make batches every few years for dealers who cater to traditional hobbyists. But Ron is right. The secondary market may be the best place to look once the supply dries up at your local hobby shop. Switches will be the hardest to find at retail. As for Menards, it would be nice to know how dedicated John Menard is to continued O gauge production, but for now the company is importing tubular track from (I assume) China.
