I have a Lionel vintage train (pre war)set up on a small O27 oval and am running it with a vintage transformer. It is a LIonel Trainmaster Q, 75 watt with 4 terminals marked A, B, C, and U. I'm trusting that the U is the neutral. The A has an 8v near it, the B, a 14v near it , and the C, a 6v near it. I was supposing that I should wire the 14v to the center rail of the track and the U to the outside, but this doesn't offer enough power. The A (8v) gives the power necessary. It doesn't seem logical. So I may not have the transformer wired correctly. Anyone care to clue me in? I am humbled by the fact that my larger layout with DCS and 80 watts of power works fine but this little setup is offering a challenge.
A follow up question: Should I wire any accessories ( eg. signal light) to different terminals? Thanks
