The Loops Lower Bridal Path
This 1,618′ tunnel lies a tangent in The Loops that features a total of four tunnels (Lower Bridal, Speedy, Lower Pine, and Byrd Ridge). Coming from Elkhorn City (about 193 miles away now), the track has just competed the first big loop and is going northeast into this, the southwestern portal. This was taken in winter, but, in summer, it’s beautiful up here.
One of the Barretts tunnels, the first railroad tunnels west of the Mississippi in the U.S., located on the grounds of the Museum of Transportation, some old railroad equipment of which is stored in the tunnel.
No info on this one, is a screen grab.

awesome........wish I was there !
here's my finished tunnel (with castle) project...it's my version of vintage German toy train piece...mine measures 13" x 15" x 13 1/2" tall...much smaller than the original...go here for more details and construction photos...
Here are some shots of the tunnel from my halloween layout. I added orange lighting for the occasion. If I remember later I will show you how I access trains in the tunnel
Here are some additional pictures
The lights made a nice effect in the tunnel. They were installed hastily to get ready for the big night. In the future I may or may not use something other than duct tape to hold them in place.
