I recently purchased a NOS 6-25458 Congressional Station Sounds Diner and would like to disable the sounds. If anyone knows a trick for turning the sounds off, I sure would appreciate it. I've tried turning the volume control all the way down and that doesn't help, and I've also tried un-plugging the sensor on the truck. That stops the "clickety clack" sounds but doesn't stop the announcements.

Open the car and unplug the speaker.
AUX1, 9 on your TMCC remote should do the trick.
If not that I believe most older Diners have a switch on the bottom to turn off the sounds.
I attempted to take it apart to unplug the speaker, but got as far as removing the ends of the car. Beyond that, I think disassembly is above my pay grade and I certainly don't want to risk damaging anything.
