(10/20/17) Prelit and Animated Carnival from Menards!

Funny, a forum member posted a question just this month about what figures were available to match the ones on his Lemax carnival rides. That led me to Lemax’s website so I could see what he was seeing, and there I found all these rides. Now, here they are on Menards’ website.

Menards and Lemax go back quite a few years together. I have two of the Menards buildings Lemax made for the retailer depicting its buildings, Lemax style.

If I had an extra GRAND laying around  just gathering dust and the real estate for a carnival I'd buy all of them.  They would go well with any era.

Surely would be a magnet and thrill young eyes.  Would buy the whole carnival just to observe their delight. By golly, I should knock out a wall to make room.

Looks like Menards just outdid the circus atmosphere of York by releasing a complete carnival during York Fall 2017 - and they didn't even have to travel to York, find lodging (their previously issued York Hotel took care of that - LOL!) or deal with arrows on the floor!

Nice looking stuff Menards is putting out! For me I don't think I have the room in the future layout, plus I have to leave room for an airport!

Agree, great stuff.  Always loved those rides from Lemax, but never had room.  I'm gonna have to re-evaluate.  Could build another shelf on top of my shopping mall.  Not sure if it will work.  I'll probably wait 'til I see them on Bob's layout so I can gauge the size.  Menard's gets awesomer and awesomer, haha.

Are these items different than the ones that are being sold at Michaels and Walmart?

Exactly the same. Check Lemax’s website. The pictures on Menards’ and Lemax’s web pages are the same. Mark was merely announcing that Menards has added the Lemax carnival products to its mix. Nothing exclusive. But a nice addition nonetheless.

Now maybe if Menards enticed Lemax to add a Tilt-A-Whirl ride, invented in Faribault, MN, nearly a century ago ...

Mr. Christmas made a Spinning Tea Cups ride that is similar.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpTX_yi4a0A

Not meaning to stray too far from the topic of trains, are there any fans here of the 2002-2005 HBO series 'Carnivale'?

It was perhaps too dark for certain viewers at the time; I felt it was a great look into life during the 1930's depression from the viewpoint of a traveling carnival and a California minister trying to serve the migrant community.

It is available on DVD as well as HBO on demand and Hulu.

I recently bought 5 Lemax carnival rides used on Ebay for $110. All but the carousel are in like-new condition. The carousel has a crack in the base that was repaired and a flag that needed to be glue back on. I'm very happy with my purchase. Check out the used options before purchasing new. A little repair can go a long way.
