Looking for some help. My Amazon Fire has the Standard DCS app already installed. Wanting to upgrade to the Premium app in the Google play store and do not how to do it. When I go to the website it shows I aleady have an app (doesn't designate which one). I can not see any way to upgrade to the Premium app or even a place to do so.

You upgrade from within the app, just like with any other iOS or Android device:

  • Navigate to the More... Screen
  • Tap on Upgrade.
  • Disregard the "Please Note" message and tap the X in its upper right hand corner.
  • You will now see a button to upgrade to the Premium version of the app.

I'm having a related problem.  I followed the steps as Barry recommended, but there is no exit "X" in the upper right hand corner of "Please Note!" message.  I'm using a Samsung Galaxy J-3 Emerge phone.  Frustrated that the pop-up note is preventing me from upgrading the app.  Any suggestions?

Make sure that the app is set for the WIU, not the DCS Explorer. If it's set for the DCS Explorer, you cannot upgrade the app.

MTH does this because updating the app for use with the DCS Explorer would be a waste of money, since the explorer doesn't support any of the additional features in the Standard or Premium versions of the app.

Hi Barry,

I went into the App Settings and confirmed I am set on DCS WIU.  I still have the problem.  I wonder if somehow the display on my phone crops the outer edges of the "Please Note!" pop-up app so I can't see or access the exit "X"?  has anyone had this problem?

I used both iOS and Android versions of the app and this cannot happen on an iOS device. However, I do seem to recall hearing of someone who had an Android device having a screen sizing issue that was resolved by changing some Android setting, or by reseting the device.

I'm happy t report my problem is resolved.  I uploaded the app to my wife's phone and I noticed that the "Please Note!" pop-up had two options to select on the bottom of the screen   One said "buy now" (which was displayed on my phone) and below that was a "continue" option.  That bottom option was cropped on my phone.  I went back and reduced the default font size on my phone and sure enough, I could now access the continue button.  I'm now happily running trains via my phone with access to all the features I want.  Thank you Barry for trouble shooting with me.
